Our Mission
To build a network across Atlantic Canada equipped with accessible training, resources, and connections to strengthen communities’ financial wellness and empower them to make confident decisions with their money.
We’re a team of three non-profits based in Nova Scotia, Canada on a mission to help Atlantic Canadians learn more about their money. Our hubs at MetroWorks in Halifax, Mill Road Social Enterprises in Inverness, and Valley Community Learning Association in Kentville, have collectively witnessed countless community members struggle to find reputable guidance with their money situations. With limited resources, community connections, and training options in this area, it was this gap that spurred Money Path Atlantic.
Money Path Atlantic has created a 10 part curriculum, inspired by Prosper Canada’s educational courses. We train community leaders who often work for organisations with social purpose missions, through this curriculum so they can include money education in their existing programming. Once they complete the training, they become official Money Path Trail Guides! For example, the OPTIONS program at MetroWorks helps people rediscover their employment potential, and they have a team member who took the Money Path training. Now, the OPTIONS program can help their participants with money education — epically helpful for when the participant secures their sustainable and meaningful employment and receives that first pay cheque!
Our program offerings continue to change as we hear more and more stories about what is actually happening with money situations in community. We have been able to offer more training options, discover new resources, and increase community connections and partnerships. owes its trailblazing success to the dedication of community leaders who have embraced our training, and are on the front lines helping Canadians learn more about their money.
